Liminality [lim-uh-nal-i-te] (noun): The process of transitioning from one experience, perspective, or version of self to another. The threshold between where you were and where you are going. A time of change, uncertainty, rebuilding, and transformation.

Hi, I’m eileen. I support people in becoming more authentic, compassionate, curious, liberated, and connected to themselves and others.

I approach my work as a Registered Psychotherapist through a relational lens because I believe we are constantly in dynamic relationships with ourselves, others, our environments, and our cultures. Deepening and deconstructing these relationships can move us closer to safety, affirmation, empathy, and freedom.

We do this as collaborators with a therapeutic alliance built on trust, patience, and courage. And humour too! I have a sharp mind, keen attunement, and a quirky personality. I encourage authenticity and vulnerability in the growth process and embody those qualities too.

Values that guide my work are decolonization, shared humanity, truth-telling, acceptance, integrity, liberation for all, compassion and a spiritual regard for nature.

My worldview is guided by anti-racist and anti-oppressive approaches, neurodiversity-affirming and queer-affirming practices, a trauma-informed lens, and person-centered and systems-centered understandings.

I have diverse personal and professional experiences that contribute to my invisible identities and influence my scope of understanding while working with people from a variety of backgrounds. Some of these include:

  • Grew up in a small, working-class rural community in Northern Alberta

  • Lived in Alberta, Quebec, and Ontario

  • Lived in Malaysia for 4 years

  • Travelled extensively across Canada and to 30 countries across 5 continents

  • White, cis woman of Celtic ancestry

  • I am Queer (and have worked extensively with the 2SLGBTQIA+ community)

  • I am Neurodivergent (AuDHD)

  • Complex and developmental trauma survivor

  • Lived experience as a monogamous, polyamorous, and open partner

  • Former careers in education and the fine arts/creative industry

  • Parent and former high school teacher

  • Chronic pain fighter navigating the healthcare system

  • Have worked closely with the global majority for almost 20 years
